Press Release: New Tennis Coach

Allen, Texas – June 11, 2025 – Lovejoy ISD is pleased to announce the hiring of Donald Allen as the new Head Tennis Coach at Lovejoy High School. With over three decades of coaching experience—including 24 years as a head coach—Coach Allen brings a proven track record of athletic excellence, program development, and student mentorship to the Leopards tennis program.

Prior to his time at Naaman Forest, Coach Allen served in Frisco ISD, contributing to the success of the Centennial High School tennis team. Under his guidance, former players earned the 2023 5A State Team Championship and reached the finals in the 2024 spring season. His coaching career also includes successful tenures in Plano ISD and Lewisville ISD, where his teams consistently secured district titles, regional qualifications, and strong winning records.

Coach Allen most recently led the Naaman Forest High School tennis team during the 2023–2024 school year, stepping in to rebuild the program after a season without a head coach. In just one year, he established a well-structured, competitive team environment and laid the groundwork for long-term success.

Throughout his 31-year coaching career, Coach Allen has received multiple Coach of the Year honors and has helped countless student-athletes achieve success both on and off the court. In addition to his coaching credentials, he brings 23 years of classroom experience as a social studies teacher and SAT Verbal tutor.

Coach Allen holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Principal Certification from the University of North Texas. He is certified in both Physical Education and Social Studies.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Allen to the Lovejoy community. We look forward to the passion, leadership, and experience he brings to our tennis program.
