Lovejoy ISD is proud to announce Brandie Phillips as Head Orchestra Director.
Ms. Brandie Phillips joins Lovejoy ISD from Plano ISD where she has served as the Director of Orchestras at Otto Middle School for the past 7 years. Ms. Phillips brings to Lovejoy a deep commitment and track record of musical excellence and success. Under her direction, the Otto Symphony Orchestra was named Texas Honor Full Orchestra First Runner-Up in 2022 and Finalists in 2019 and 2023. Additionally, her ensembles have consistently earned UIL Sweepstakes awards. In recognition of her impact, she was named Otto Middle School’s 2023–2024 Teacher of the Year and was honored as a 2025 Texas PTA Honorary Life Member.
Ms. Phillips has earned a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Columbus State University. She is certified to teach music in all grade levels. An experienced professional musician, Ms. Phillips was Assistant Concertmaster of The Dallas Opera Orchestra from 2012–2018 and continues to perform regularly with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Broadway Dallas, and other orchestras around the metroplex. Ms. Phillips is a native of San Angelo, Texas, who has appeared as both a soloist and orchestral performer in venues across the United States and Europe.
Outside of school, Ms. Phillips enjoys spending time with her fun-loving 4-year-old Charlee, two dogs (Gracie & Shae), a crested gecko named Lucy, and their many fish.
Lovejoy High School parents will have the opportunity to welcome Ms. Phillips to the Lovejoy community at a Meet and Greet before the 2025-2026 school year begins.
