Jen Morrow

About Me:

Jen Morrow was raised in Friendswood, TX, where she started dancing at the age of 5 and focused strictly on ballet for 8 years.

Jen attended Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, TX, where she realized her passion for drill team. In Jen’s first year on drill team as a sophomore, she auditioned for and made the special elite group, in her junior year she served as Jr. Lieutenant and as Captain her senior year. At the end of her senior year, Jen was part of the Starmakers Dance and Performance Camps staff. There she taught routines, aided in leadership workshops, technique classes and choreography.

After graduating from high school Jen auditioned for and became a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette. She was a swingster (the elite performance group) and then had the honor of serving as Lieutenant her sophomore year. While a Rangerette, she participated in many special performances which took them to Ireland for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Lord Mayors Ball, the New Years Cotton Bowl Classic pre-game and half-time shows, the parade and Texas Black Tie & Boots Ball for the Presidential inauguration of George W. Bush in 2001, where they also performed with Lee Greenwood and Mark Chestnut. Her Rangerette experience also allowed her to perform for the pre-game and half-time show at the Dallas Cowboy Game on Thanksgiving Day, with Jessica Simpson and Billy Gilman. More appearances & performances include the Adolphus Children’s Parade and the Cotton Bowl Classic Hall of Fame.

After Kilgore, Jen attended University of North Texas where she earned her BS in Kinesiology. She also had the opportunity to work at Mike Miller and Associates, where she helped coordinate and assist with choreography for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade dance routines, along with the Cotton Bowl pre-game/half-time show. While attending North Texas she began to choreograph and continues to for numerous schools in Texas.

From 2001 – 2006, she had the privilege to assist the Plano West Sr. High Royales. Beginning in 2006, Jen has had the honor of choreographing and judging for the Kilgore Rangerettes.

Jen teaches summer dance/drill team camps for Encore Creative Productions (co-owned by Lisa Fortenberry & Shelley Wayne).

Jen has her Masters of Arts degree in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. After her masters, she became the drill team director for Jasper High School in Plano ISD for 8 years and was the director at Hebron HS in Lewisville ISD for 3 years.

Jen maintains to explore and develop strategies to enrich the education of drill teams. It is Jen’s students who give her the perseverance and inspiration of what drill team is and can become.  She is excited to be a part of Lovejoy ISD.

Jen's hobbies include shopping, running, and photography.  An ocean view is her absolute favorite.  She's married to Stefan who is also a teacher....he teaches history.  They have two little girls who are the light of their lives!
