LHS Chapter of National ASL Honor Society

Welcome!

 

Lovejoy High School has had its own chapter of the National ASL Honor Society since 2011. The chapter is student-led with the support of Edward Bart, the chapter sponsor. Each year, officers are chosen and the students collaborate on what activities the chapter will carry out throughout the school year.

 

One primary activity has been fundraising for Deaf Action Center in Dallas, Texas. Money raised goes to supporting the variety of programs and services DAC provides to Deaf and Hard of Hearing senior citizens and other under-served Deaf and Hard of Hearing groups.

 

Another primary activity is participating in the annual Fall Art and Spring Literature competitions hosted by the National ASL Society. In Fall 2015 we were proud that one of our own ASL students' artwork was honored by the national judges.
