Biography

First and foremost, I can't wait to start my first year as a Leopard!  I will be the College, Career & Military Readiness Counselor for Lovejoy High School, serving all students 9th-12th grade.

For the past 4 years I served as a secondary campus counselor in Garland ISD, assisting students (and parents) with their post high school plans.  Prior to that, I was as a counselor at Royse City High School for 2 years.  At RCHS, I assisted with individual student planning, including assisting students evaluate interests, abilities, skills along with goal setting based on academic, career and social/emotional data. I also planned, developed, and implemented awareness activities for the campus that focused on the well being of the students and staff.

While I was working on my Master’s Degrees in School Counseling through Amberton University, I was a lead 8th grade Reading teacher in Garland ISD where I created and implemented new programs, presented district-wide staff development, created curriculum, and mentored other reading teachers.

I have a 17 year old son, Kaden, who will be starting his senior year!

I am passionate about helping young people navigate through the application process whether it be college, career or the military.
