Hello! I am happy to be apart of the Lovejoy independent school district. I have had a passion for teaching before I was even old enough to go to school! I remember looking up to my teachers with stars in my eyes as if they were superheros. I knew my purpose in this world was to make a difference and the journey has been just that! Prior to coming to Lovejoy I started my teaching career as a private tutor. From there I served as a directors assistant in a Reggio Emilia school which focuses on student-centered and constructivist self guided curriculum. It was there I found a way to spark student interest from there own curiosity. I finished my Bachelors degree at TWU majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. I worked in Mckinney ISD then had my first son, Marty. Marty was born with hypoplastic left-heart syndrome (half a heart). I learned a lot about medically fragile children. We take everyday as a blessing and are thankful for all the little things. After my mom passed in 2016 my younger brother, who is autistic, came to live with me and my kids. At this point I had twin boys and a new baby girl! With 5 dependents I decided I would better service my community by opening a day school for special needs adults who had aged out of the public school system. That was a huge blessing. Every day was an adventure and I learned there are so many people around us with golden hearts. When COVID-19 hit the state forced all operations to stop and I helped my own children with online learning. I married my incredible husband during this time. From that experience of the pandemic I knew it was time to go back into the classroom, my happy place. We have one life to make a difference! I don't want to waste a second!
