Welcome to my corner of the internet universe!
Below is my mini-bio, and you can find links to my class calendars & tutorial sign-ups at the bottom.
About Me:
Indiana is my childhood home, and I'll always root for the Colts. My wife and I got married in 2011, and since then we have explored the world. We love to travel, and we have lived and worked in South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. My wife and I have two sons - Owen and Kian. They are our world and it's amazing to see our little humans grow every day.
Geekdom is where it's at! I could watch a Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star trek, Marvel or Harry Potter movie any night of the week. Documentaries, books, legos or board games are very suitable substitute. However, my favorite moments are any time that I get with my family.
My Experience:
Hwasun Middle School - Hwasun, South Korea (2011 - 2013)
Al Ain American School - Al Ain, UAE (2014 - 2015)
Al Ain Homeschool Co-op - Al Ain, UAE (2015 - 2017)
Little Leopards - Lucas, Texas (2017 - 2018)
Lovejoy High School (2018 - PRESENT)
My Education:
Olivet Nazarene University
B.A. in Intercultural Studies
Minor in Political Science
My Philosophy:
Anyone can learn, and we constantly are. The process of learning is incredible because what we learn comes from infinite sources and infinite reasons. Learning history and human geography is crucial to understanding the context of the present moment. I say to the students on the first day, "All of history has led to you." Despite almost all of the content that we cover happening before the birth of my students, the connections from the past to the present are seemingly endless. Students also need many skills to help them throughout their academic careers and later on in life. From research to presentations to exploring philosophy to debates, I strive to foster growth as people, not just students trying to pass a class.
