Lovejoy High School Named
a 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best High School
Lovejoy High School has once again been named Best High School by U.S. News & World Report. This year, U.S. News and World Report numerically ranked over 18,000 schools nationwide from its review of more than 24,000 schools.
Lovejoy High School ranked #301 in the national rankings, placing LHS in the top 1% of high schools in the nation.
Lovejoy High School placed #46 within Texas and #14 in the Dallas Metro Area.
“To be honored once again as a Nation's Top 1% High School is outstanding. It affirms that we continue to be a top performer at Lovejoy High School and that we are truly fulfilling this aspect of the Lovejoy Graduate Profile”, states Dr. Michael Goddard, Superintendent of Lovejoy ISD, “We are thankful to our school board, administration, teachers, staff, students and parents who maintain a focus of excellence throughout all of Lovejoy ISD.”
The Best High Schools rankings are produced in conjunction with RTI International, a global research firm. U.S. News doesn’t collect data directly from high schools – all data comes directly from official third-party sources. U.S. News receives AP and IB data directly from the College Board and International Baccalaureate, respectively, for use in the rankings. The state assessment data and graduation rates are from each state, and other data comes from the U.S. Department of Education Common Core of Data.
“Lovejoy High School is dedicated to ensuring our students are provided rich academic experiences that prepare our students for success beyond high school,” stated Principal, Mr. Chris Mayfield, “ It is an honor to continue to see the hard work from our teachers, students, parents, and the Lovejoy community recognized.”
