Jonathan Stinson

I, Jonathan Stinson, was born in Odessa, TX on June 28, 1976.  My family moved to south Ft. Worth when I was 1.5 years old and lived in the same house through high school graduation.  I graduated from Crowley High School in 1994.  At Crowley, I was a student athletic trainer for four years.  My senior year, I started volunteering  with the Athletic Trainers of Baylor University.

Upon graduation, I attended Tarrant County Junior College for one year then transferred to Baylor University.  I was born and raised to go to Baylor.  I was the 35th member of my family to attend over 4 generations.  I bleed Green and Gold.  I worked as an Athletic Training Student at Baylor for 5 years.  I majored in Education, Health and Human Performance with an emphasis on Athletic Training.  I married Jennifer Tierney on May 22, 1999, and in the spring of 2000, I passed my State Athletic Training License test.  I received my Licensed Athletic Trainer credential when I graduated in August 2000.

My first Athletic Training job was at Shoemaker High School in Killeen, TX.  I spent 5 years as the Assistant Athletic Trainer.  In 2004, I attained my national certification in athletic training from the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification. In 2005, I was blessed to be hired by Mike Jinks to be his first Head Athletic Trainer at Steele High School in Cibolo, TX.  In 2006, I enrolled in the Sports Management Masters program at West Virginia University.  This was an online program which allowed me to work while doing my coursework.  In 2008, my Master of Science degree was conferred.  While at Steele High School, I also served as president of the Alamo Area Athletic Trainer's Association, and my son, Jeffrey, was born.

I worked at Steele for 4 years and in the fall of 2009, I left Steele to teach math at Corbett Junior High School.  I missed working as an Athletic Trainer during this time, so I worked there only for a year.  In 2010, I was hired as the Head Athletic Trainer for Jusdon High School.  There I stayed for two years until my wife and I decided to move to North Texas.  In the fall of 2012, I became the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lovejoy High School.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lovejoy.  It has been amazing and I look forward to working with the LHS athletes and students for many years to come.
