I am looking forward to my third year teaching AP World History and AP U.S. History at Lovejoy High School this year. I spent 6 years teaching AP U.S. History/Dual Credit and U.S. History at Richardson High School in Richardson ISD. I have also taught or currently teach adjunct courses in U.S. History, World History, and Western Civilizations for the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, Southern Arkansas University, Dallas Christian College, Richland College, National Park Community College, Grayson College and Dallas Baptist University. I graduated with a B.A. in History and Communications from Ouachita Baptist University in 2006 and graduated with a M.A. in History from the University of Arkansas in 2008. I enjoy Running, Mountain biking, Road biking, hiking with my wife, spending time with my family, reading, teaching college classes, and studying Christian Apologetics. I have traveled to Peru to see Machu Pichu and other Incan ruins, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada, Mount Rainier National Park, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Smoky Mountain National Park, Arches National Park, Shenandoah National Park, and Hot Springs National Park. I grew up and went to college and graduate school in Arkansas but have lived in Texas for the last 8 years. My wife and I have been married for eight years. We have a 4 year old daughter named Lydia and an almost 3 year old son named Luke.
