Referrals for Gifted and Talented

Referrals for Gifted and Talented Services are online. To complete a referral, log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, select the student for whom you wish to complete a referral, and locate the Gifted and Talented Services icon on the bottom left of the screen.

Referrals are accepted at all times throughout the academic year. Anyone may refer a student for review by the G/T committee for services (teachers, parents, other adults, students, self-referrals). Students may be referred one time in a twelve month period.

Deadlines for referrals will be posted on the home page of the gifted and talented website. Referrals received after the deadline for the start of school will be processed over the course of the first semester.

Review Process:

  • Collect parent input and teacher observations
  • Student assessment
    • scholastic aptitude,
    • reasoning, and
    • academic achievement
  • G/T Committee Review
  • Parent notification mailed
  • Schedule changes made (as appropriate) after parent consent received
