- The Lovejoy High School Robotics Team held a World Championship qualifier robotics competition in the main gym on March 7th.
- We have a student that through 4 H is competing statewide in cooking and showing steer.

Our Veterinarian Tech program has a team of students that went and
competed in a state wide competition last week against 40+ teams. It
was their first ever competition, they won 2nd place.
- We
have a student, Natalie Andrews, that just qualified on a national PTA
level for her dance choreography entry in the PTA reflections contest.

Lovejoy High School is the home of , Ivana Hong, Olympic gymnast in the
Beijing Olympics and current projected leader for the next Olympic
gymnastics team.
- We have a Competitive Trap/Skeet team.
- Our English Commended performance scores on the state standardized test were one of the best in state last year.
- We have not had to replace a single desk or desk chair in the school in three years.

Our DVD Yearbook is one of eight National finalist for the top DVD
Yearbook in the nation amongst all school. We find out in April if we
won.
- The entire State Championship Volleyball was academic all-district

Our cafeteria staff won a National competition by creating a video
about the cafeteria ladies and won a dishwasher worth $20,000.
-We have had Fine Arts State Qualifiers in Band, Theater, Art, Choir and Orchestra in both years we were eligible to do so.
-We
were one of the first ever first year varsity football programs with no
seniors to go to the football playoffs in their first year.
-We have hosted eight foreign exchange students in three years. The
three this year are from Germany, Japan and Australia.
-Our Computer Science UIL team won the very first contest they entered.
-Our Debate team came in 2nd place out of 20 teams the very first contest they entered this year.
-We've had state qualifiers in cross country in both our years of varsity.
-Every
Friday morning this year, one of the many groups of high school
students have gone to one our elementary schools and read to classes
-In 15 months - June 6, 2009 we will have our first graduating class...
